06 turbo on 99 cummins

Got a few questions first off is it very hard to modify an 06 common rail turbo to fit on a 99 24 valve engine. I have a comon rail turbo and was thinking about getting it turned into a hybred then mounting it on the 99 24valve. thanks for any imput
