That article is really only for the 47RH trannys. The 47REs take a jumper wire and some other things I believe to make it work.

It controls the torque convertor. Basically (w/ the 3 psition switch) you either force it to stay locked, let the truck handle it, or force it to stay unlocked.

Unless you have a '96 like mine. If I try to hook up a mystery switch it puts my tranny into limp. I have read that the '96s need a reflash in order to make it work properly.

No your truck does not have a built in mystery switch.

They work good but it'll throw a MIL on a California emissions vehicle. Cheap and easy way to use an exhaust brake on a stock auto or for towing or just plain going down hills, letting your engine hold you back.
