Yes - a small and harmless amount of the K&N coating came thru to the BHAF - absolutely NO adverse effect I could detect.

I might add at this point, that I have since this thread, converted to the Amsoil/Donaldson 9145 NanoFiber filter - also using the same inner liner material, as well as an Outer Wears waterproof cover - with EXACTLY the SAME results seen here above with the previous BHAF type filter!

For those unfamiliar with the Amsoil/Donaldson 9145 filter, as available to replace a BHAF for our trucks - here's a pic of mine - first, without the added OuterWears cover:



And then WITH the OuterWears waterproof cover - but inner liner absent:



The inner liner looks like this:
