Parting Out 2000 2500 LWB SLT Laramie HO
I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT Laramie LWB HO CTD I am thinking abotu parting out. Pictures Are Here There is actually very little wrong with the truck. The original automatic transmission finally went out at 202k miles. I really never thought it would have lasted me this long, but it did. But now that it has failed, I am not in the possition to fix it. Transmission would make a good core thoguh. Anything else that may be wrong is minor cosmetic issues. One thing that one be good to buy is the rear door on the driver's side. It was dented in pretty bad and then just knocked out and touched up to make it look just, "ok". It works but would need body work and paint to look "good". The bed has a dent in the passenger side behind the fender well area where I jack-knifed a trailer on a dark mountain road. I pressed it out for the most part and it look "ok" but with a little body work and paint and the bed would make a good replacement. The engine is in great running order. No real mods so it is in great shape and has 100k's of miles left in it. Other things of interest... dual fual filters 1/2" fuel line w/straw gooseneck hitch gauges (trans temp, EGT, Boost, Fuel Pressure) straight 3" exhaust good turbo that recieved new bearings and seals about 100k miles ago (thought I had a turbo problem and it actually ended up being a blown intake manifold gasket) two fairly new 285's on the rear factoy chrome rims 1-ton springs on rear drum brakes on rear 3.53 gears just replaced front pass wheel hub/bearing - so like new infinity speakers and JBL amp all the goodies inside except for leather Transmission good for core If you need anything, let me know. I will begin to get an idea of whether I will part it out or sell it as is. If the motor goes for good money then it gets parted. That will be the major desciding factor, to be honest with you. I know what some may say, seems wrong to part a truck that can be up and running so easily. Well, I still owe $ on it and its worth more in parts than it is whole and I need to knwo I can move one somehow. To me, it has served me well for years and its time for me to move on. If parting it out is the best way for me to get out from underneithe it, then so be it. Its just a truck and its not a collectors car or anything so I am not too heartbroken about it. But if you feel as if you want to rescue it, I will let it go as a whole for $8000.00 Let me know what you need and lets see where this goes. Thanks, |

Everyone - I need to know that something of great value sales, like the engine, before I start pulliung parts. This truck can be a running/workin g truck with nothing but a transmission and I dot want to kill it unless I have good reason, $$, to do so. DvlRacer - THe fuel lines, straw and filter assembly was all put together by myself. I have always been in the industrial/heavy duty business and have access to everything to design my own set-up so that is what I did. The fuel filter assemblies came from 5.9 Cummins set-ups in large forklifts and heavy equipment. I mounted thema dn my Holley pump on a plate and them mounted it under the truck on the frame rail. I use to large Komatsu fuel filters, which I am sure you can find WIX or Amsoil replacements for but I have Komatsu filters at my disposal, and use one standard filter and one with a water seperator on it. I wired the factory water float wiring to it even so the light onthe dash works if it holds any water. I figure I have about $400 in the set-up. I will let it go for $200 shipped. fehringer - No airdog, sorry. All I have on the intake is the large filter which has just about reached the point of needing to be replaced. Lance - You can call me at 214-289-5803 The three onthe a-pilar, including the pod itself, is all autometer black phantom with orange/red dials. I paid $200 something for the set-up. I thin $250-280. I will include probes and all for $150. Feel free to call if you want to talk though. Muz - Are you wanting the cab, fenders, bed, hood, or everything? Let me know in ore detail what you are after. johnny - The tranny will move the truck if there is no load and it only grabs a little every rotation. SOmething in the output area is f-ed up. It pulled great (well, as good as a Dodge auto can) until it started making noise one day and left me sitting on the side of the road the next day. WIth a load on it it wont move at all. The engine just revs up as if it has nothing behind it, like in neutral. So most of the inside should be good to rebuild with but I imagine a new output shaft will be needed. That is a good thing to replace anyway. quigs - All I know is it is an auto from a 2000 that was manufactured in 9/99. The truck has drums in the rear so it is an early 2000. If you can tell me where to look I will find out though. I just dont know. I always wanted a 6 spd and if I had the money I would convert this over and keep driving it. |

Rear bumper is already spoken for by a guy in OK. Do you want the amp to go with the speakers? Factory stereo doesnt have enough power to push them well. |
