I will agree....the KDP fix is not that hard but if you do the tab method it does help to have a few specialized tools. I had a buddy do mine and Im glad I didnt attempt it myself. Installing the new crank seal into the timing cover is a bit tricky.

BTW, if you take it to a shop - this is also a good time to have the timing bumped up since the timing cover is already off the engine.

FYI..the seal kit I got from Cummins NW included everything to do the job, and the seal pilot tool makes a dandy seal installer as well. The plastic sleeve is a must too. It is DRY seal, so don't give it an oil bath and make sure the crank is nice and dry.

Thanks for the info should be putting mine back togeather tonite if the kdp kit comes in.
