47rh or not

I am looking at a tranny for sale 2wd from a 96 there are six wires coming off of the tranny how can i tell if it is a rh or re thanks.

The 47RH was used in the '94 and '95 trucks. '96 was the first year for the 47RE. The 47RH has a three wire connector above the shift lever for transmission control. The 47RE has more wires in the connector.

Based on your description, you have a 47re.
