Boost Gauge Install.... What Intake Port to use ??
Trying to install a boost gauge on my 98 12 Valver.
Where is the easiest place to access for the intake side port ??
Anyone have pics available ?

cant get you a pic but look at your intake manifold and to the left in between the fuel pump theres a plug bolt thats where i put mine for accurate psi
It's too late right now to fire it up and wake up the neighborhood.
I'll have to wait till I leave for work in the AM to see if it works.

Hi... I got a quick question, i got a 2001 ram 3500 5.9L and cant seem to find where to put the boost guage. every place that i guessed to put it the truck had trouble starting. i never worked on a diesel so thanks!

It's not the right place, this is the '94-'98 12 valve section, you want the '98-'02 24 valve section.
BUT, what you need is a "boost bolt". Or you can drill and tap your intake horn.

The 24 Valve the boost pressure port is a 3/4" pipe plug requiring a 1/2" square drive ratchet extension for removal and is located on the side of the intake manifold rearward of the fuel filter bracket. You will need a 3/4"x1/8" pipe thread bushing to reduce it for your boost tubing. Most kits include this bushing.

Thanks but, still afrade to do it now because the only place i can see is the intake horn and scared to tap off that. Big difference between you all's older models than my 2001. sorry guys for wrong posting but thanks if u can help!
