I know this is the second time but I'm pulling my hair out
1997 3500 47re 4x4
Truck will not lock the tc. It does go into O/D with and without the button.
Ok so here is what I've done so far.
-Checked the alternator to make sure it wasn't getting AC current
-checked the TPS, gets 5 volts and is set to 1.1 volts at idle.
-checked the ground to TPS, good.
-changed the brake light switch
-tried to put a 1k resistor on the trans temp sensor wire(purple) all it did was put tranny in limp mode.
-installed a lock up and yes I made sure it was the right wire, still nothing.
-checked the trans relay under hood
-checked codes, have a p1237 and 37/45 and I believe that's from trying to hook up the resistor.
I'm going to clear the codes, and see what I get. I'm clueless as to right now what to do next.
I am going to assume the trans temp sender is good considering the trans temp light is not on and it goes into o/d
I'm going to try to switch out the PCM.
I'm leaning towards the solenoid in the transmission or possibly a new torque converter if that doesn't solve the problem
