where can I get a new throttle linkage rod? I replaced the ends a few months ago then today pullin out of sheetz it decided it wanted to snap the rod so I used a bunggy cord to pull the rpms up to 1500 and drove it 3 miles home then had to 4 low it to get it up the hill I need a new rod now I don't mind welding this one for the time being but I need a new one
I just checked mine and it said that the recall was incomplete. What exactly are they replacing on it?
And is it something that they will do even if I'm not the original owner?
Recalls are free for the life of the vehicle no matter how many owners or miles.
In fact the law is they have to do the recall for free, no excuses, or face heavy fines.
Parts not available is not a legitimate excuse that some dealers try to use.
The recall is only for the rod ends, not the rod itself. A person might get lucky and the dealer could replace it in conjunction, but I wouldn't count on it.
Bill, I do not want to argue the point...My truck is a Florida truck. There was a recall on the hood latch for any truck that is up north in the rust belt. Dodge refused to fix it and the government agency (NHTSA?) said the recall was only good for 10 years.
That's the first time I've heard of that.
I know many people who have had recalls done on 15 year old trucks.
In fact if you make an address change with Dodge the corporate office will send you a letter saying what recalls haven't been done. Seems like if they weren't required do a recall that they wouldn't bother telling you about ones that hadn't been done.

You are right but I think most dealers aren't following the guidelines.
From http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/recalls/documents/MVDefectsandRecalls.pdf
"There is a limitation based on the age of the
vehicle. In order to be eligible for a free remedy, the
vehicle cannot be more than 10 years old on the date
the defect or noncompliance is determined."
