47re what can it take?

I have a 96 with an auto trans and was wondering how much power it can take before needing to be modded. I would like to get to somewhere near 300-350 HP and 700 or so ft-pounds. The truck will mainly be used for pulling a wagon that weighs about 13000-16000 depending on what we have on it. Any help would be much appreciated.

About 75 horsepower over stock if you can drive reasonably.

idk exactly what it can take. some people say a lot more. some people say barely anymore more. all i know is my grandpa bought a #10 fuel plate, slid it all the way forward, and a few other performance mods, hauls his 11,000 pound 38 foot goose neck camper around the country, and the only transmission failures he had was because a line blew off and drained the fluid in it, torque converter doesnt slip or anything

Heh

Depends on how you drive it. Take it from me, im on trans #3.

Don't add any power unless you can afford a new trans tomorrow.

At least get a tc

100 horse injectors and stock plate forward and the t/c slips on a 15K trans.

stock plate forward killed my stock 47re. with just a valve body and a new TC you should be able to hold around 400 hp and 800 ft/lbs.

my transmission is 1 in a billion though. I would not do much if you can't do any transmission work.
