transfer case?

will a 4 wheel drive transfer case fit a 2 wheel drive auto? 1996 12 valve cause if it will ill buy the truck

If theres a coupler on the back of the tranny it might work. Just to give you sort of somthing to go off of it typicly costs around 2500 bucks. Normally you have to change the output shaft. Hope this helps

I Think you might be better off just buying a whole new tranny with a transfer case. If you like the five spd anyway I'm sure you can find one for a decent deal. I've got a buddy with a complete 24v engine with a 6 spd that he bought for 600 bucks, of course there not always that cheap but keep your eyes open I'm sure you'll find one. Oh btw how much for the truck just in case you dont buy it?

could i use my 727 on the twelve or would it grenade it with the torque? its not gonna be a puller or anything just a driver

Honestly man those trannys are for gas motors and there built pretty light so I would suggest rebuilting the tranny with redfether clutches and any of the hard parts in the tranny the only thing is I don't think the'll bolt up.

well i have the 727 i could get all the heavy duty parts for it, if it will work anyone done this or heard of this swap?

If you have a bell housing adapter and get a good diesel tq converter you might be able to make it work. That would be a pretty cool ride!
