Boost problem HELP!!!

I have a 97 dodge 12 Valve.
My question is...just recently while pulling a trailer(s) up a steeper grade I only have 11psi on my boost gauge in fifth gear. That is like 40 mph. Just a total DOG. My egts never seem to get too hot either...1200ish When I go to fourth I can still hit 25 psi.(sometimes) I have notice lately too sometimes it wont be showing any boost and then just shoot up to 13 psi.
I hear it may be my injector pump(I hope not) although it starts real easy every time. I read on this forum it may have something to do with the wastegate diaphragm. If you have any thoughts I would love to hear them.
Thanks for any help.

lift pump(70 bucks from cummins) could be going if its intermittent. probably have a boost leak as well if its not your LP. check your lower boots down by the wheel well.

40 MPH pulling a trailer up a hill in fifth gear? Even with a 4.10 rear end that would be lugging it. Read up on your fifth gear (while you still have one).

I ment it will drop to 40mph. The motor wont keep the reg speed 55mph. I normally dont pull a trailer going 40 in fifth...:-)
