Mine has 199,891 miles on original engine/trans/even the u-joints are original. It does need the throttle cable replaced (never did the recall, don't like anyone working on my baby but me). Congratulations to everyone in the 200k range on the original equipment.

mine is at 291,000 and still goin strong only the headgasket has been changed the rest was upgrades not a necesity

at 168K, looks like I must just have it broke in. 97 ram 5 speed. No 4wd, but I got a feeling the drive train will go a long time. 1 question- what do you all think of synthetic oil?

Sorry for posting on a bit of an old post... but heres a little about mine...

98 2500 5spd 4x4, bought it with 294074 now has 301305. I am a little worried about what I should do about makin it last longer.... thats probably a different thread. But the guy i bought it from said all original except for the clutch and trans and he said the diesel fuel and oil has been in the truck for 2 years. and I have done 2 oil changes.....

and i paid 4500 for it...i thought it was a good deal after all the reseachin i did.

You should ask him if the Dowel Pin repair was done or not.

always run a good grade oil in it and keep up on the filter.. heart and sould of a diesel...and get gauges..so u know right away if sumthin is going

97 2wd 2500 auto 225000 motor and tranny original. Runs and shifts great
