HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! I have Questions!!!!!!!!!!
Hi guys, I have a couple of questions about the twelve valve. First I have a noise that sounds like its coming from the air cleaner when I let off the gas pedal. It sounds like a chattering or cough not really sure. The other question is on average when do the auto trannys start going. Any info is greatly apprectiated. Thanks

it could be "turbo bark" are u hard throttle then quick stop and its doing it? it happens when pressure on the manifold side of the turbo is greater than the boost pressure, it can be done but not real good. might break the shaft in the turbo.so try not to let off so fast. is everythign stock? as far as the trans u never know on a stock motor some have gone 50,000 70,000 180,000 just keep up on maintenence and drive carfeul if u dont have alot of money for a trans, try a valve body and good torque converter

Turbo Bark
As you shut down quickly the compressed air that was going to go into your engine has to go somewhere so it exits back through the turbo. Normal sound nothing to worry about. Some will encourage you not to shut down so quickly as to cause turbo bark, others do it all the time cause they like the noise. Change your fluids in the tranny occasionally, you may want to consider a synthetic fluid and adjust the bands occasionally (instructions are available on this site , or have it done) and your tranny should be good for a long time. But yes these engines have the torque to push these tranny's (In stock form) past it's limits. Enjoy your truck
