The truck made to the lake and back....tps acted up about 1/2 hour out , convertor kept unlocking untill i gave it more throttle. Speaking of throttle , didn't have much other than about 1/4 . Still had enough to keep going, so I kept going. Realized at the lake that the boost line to the afc was kinked beyond a lake repair. I assume thats why there's no response beyond 1/4 throttle. Crappy milage too. WILL FIX AND ADVISE.

Angry

just looked at it again at lunch, there is a bit of a kink in the line , but it should still allow boost through it . I moved the plate back to the stock location at the lake and thats when i saw the kink, but now I'n not sure if thats where the problem is. If I understand the pump correctly, It needs a boost signal to the afc so it can help regulate the fuel to the boost??? 12v experiance is not yet my specialty, so I thank you for any sugestions and help.

Finally..after i put gauges in and saw only 600*, I decided to make a baseline adjustment and moved the afc and plate full foreward. It will break the new BF mud terrian tires loose and has plenty of throttle response. Just have to do some afc and starwheel adjustments for smoke .Also It easily reached 1200* , so I'll have to detune it or keep an eye on the egt . Now I'm dreaming of exhaust mods and thinking of grinding the plate from the 160 pump. I might find a warranty exhaust and tail pipe from a 2003 and weld the flange from the 95 down pipe to the 2003. Would a turbo from a 2002 HO lower the EGT ?

Easily reaching 1200 is not exactly engine-melting territory. I've pegged my egt gauge at 1500 quite a few times, for short periods anyway. I'm far from alone in doing that, too.

Does anyone know the limits for meltdown and the time it takes at that temp to do it. For example, Is 1200* for 10 minutes too long ? or 1100 for an hour too much? 1600* instant melt ?

The way I understand it is that you can run up to about 1350* all day long and supposedly not hurt anything. I don't think I would try that much heat though .........................
