[BUT, I have also read on TDR, Comp. Diesel, and Diesel Garage of Valair clutches wearing out faster than other companies clutches.
I follow the forums pretty good, i havent seen all those posts you talk about, we sell 8,000 clutches a year, bound to be a couple people out there that had a problem, but you won't find one that we havent taken care of. Also We sell 2 of the 3 largest truck parts distributors in the nation, and another 75 truck parts distributors, Diesel cluthes, we didn't get thier business by "bad business pratices" either. if you had personally experienced a bad deal from my company then it would be different.
i jsut read that comp d thread the only ones that have anything bad to say about us are referring back to my competitor, one guy with a harsh engaging feramic, go figure, to each his own, and as far as the other thread goes the only thing RobertP forgot to mention was he got his clutch for free and was a beta tester. more than 2 years ago

Like I said before all this info. I have posted is just from what I have read.
I am sorry that I so called bashed your company. It isnt a very polite thing to do without actually trying your product.
Currently I am running a SBC 3600 street drag dual disc.
If you would like to send me one of your Dual Discs, I would be more than happy to test it out for you.
No offence taken, and if you had my product that would be different, and as far as a free one goes, i get that all the time. but you have a nice day anyhow.
First off what are you going to use it for ? thats most important the wrong clutch for the job will result in lots of misery and can be down right dangerous.I used McLeod DD 30 years ago in a hemi A/Gas car worked fine spinning 8k.I have worked helping out a friend building clutches for 30 years (his sons now build them ) super stock and pro stock tractor clutches and I usually put my own to gather I do know something about clutches.I had a stock oem go out and needed one asp so I called valair I liked his honesty in not giving me a bunch of BS and when I went to my g56 change I called SB and Valair I was able to buy the valair for less then turning my own flywheel and buying the parts to Assembly one.Granted its a cast flywheel but I dint need steel one.And I like the saying "you get what you pay for"if thats the way to eze your mind for paying to much then pay list price next time you buy a new truck or car.I haven't run the truck with this clutch do to building twins and I should have went with a DD but the twins were a after thought however there is no doubt in my mind on the quality of the Valair products.
Does anyone have any experience with mccloud clutches? specifically the dual disk? thanks!
What a shame. To answer your question, McCloud makes a fine clutch. You can get this clutch through Haisley Machine. Call Van or Patty Haisley and be sure to tell them exactly what your plans are with the truck. They will be able to take good care of you. You can get their number here, just click on Indiana.
