Turns over, but won't start when hot.

I did a search and found nothing. Anyways, here is the deal. Starts fine when cold. Batteries are spanking new.

When it reaches operating temp, if I shut her off and try to start it back up right away, she turns over like the batteries were weak.

-All wires are clean and have di-electric grease on the connectors.
-batteries are brand new.

If I wait a half hour, she fires right up with no problem.

So:

-Leaky injector(s)?
-Bad timing?
-gripping piston rings?

I am stumped!!!!

Mine used to do the same thing. Turns out injection pump was needing replaced. I was always told the next time it does it dump a bucket of cold water on the ip and if that solves your problem then that's it.

Thanks for the answers guys. I will try the cold water or snow trick. If it's not that, put my huge starter contacts in my 1 year old starter.

Sounds like the pump. You need to verify that you have adequate fuel pressure to the pump. Be sure you have changed the filter too.More than likely though the injection pump is worn. Had a tractor that would not start when warm and the water trick would work to get it going but it is very hard on pump internals.
