Hey yall, I had a hissing boost leak that increased as boost built up. Checked all the boots and they were good. Heard a hissing comimg from the air horn so I pulled it off and sure enough the little square gasket was broken. Im in a bind cause no store has the gasket and I already tore it all up getting it off the surface. Can I use high temp RTV/silicone as a gasket until I can get one? I heard you can use cardbaord too. Whats best to use? Please help im in a serious bind! Thanks!
There's a guy floating around here with 780k on his unrebuilt cummins. Now, according to duramax and ford guys, his truck should have fallen completely apart around the engine 7.8 times, since they all know that dodge trucks are junk and only last 100k before they spontaneously disassemble themselves while going down the road. That has happened to me 2.76 times, and both times I was only wearing boxers while driving so it was really embarrassing.

Well I fired it up and took it for a drive and it still has the same hiss. Is it OK to drive it in the condition its in? The truck isnt really sluggish and its not smoking any (dont have a boost gauge so dont know the boost numbers) so will it do any harm to drive it the way it is until my gasket comes in? Tomorrow im gonna look for other places it could be. If I were to describe it, the more I push the throttle, it sounds like im turning the fan up on the HVAC control. It sounds JUST like air blowing through the vents, but the heat isnt on. HVAC controls are off but as I pick up RPM the noise gets louder. Any thoughts?
I had some old stock gasket material, felt I believe, and cut a gasket to fit. I have not seen a difference and the boost is steady and tops at 38 psi WOT..
