well i blew the dana 70 out of my truck when hooked to a sled and put the dana 80 in that i had waiting around for such an occasion to happen. the problem is the limited slip in my dana 70 was super tight and the dana 80 is real loose. can anyone confirm that the clutches are the same between the 2 diffs that i could take a clutch or 2 from each side of the 70 and put it in the 80 to make it tighter or maybe even locked all the time without having to break out the welder
i dont believe they interchange and dont think about buying a rebuild kit, the clutch packs for the factory d80 carrier cost more than just replacing the carrier with an aftermarket LS or locker!

so your saying i should probly trade the ls diff for an open diff and put a lockrite in it? i did notice the rebuild kit for the ls 80 was alot more than to rebuild the ls 70. well i gotta come up with something cuz im gunna do some pulling this weekend and i would really like both wheels to be spinning haha maybe i used the wrong additive. anyone know what the best additive or gear oil to use in a limited slip is to make it lock up better?

Mopar limited slip additive, is a must. 75/140 amsoil synthetic. its rediculously exspensive but itll be awesome if you plan to keep beating the balls off your rearend
