1994 12v 5 speed shuting off on the highway

ok can someone here help me it sounds like my truck is kinda haveing the same problem it is a 1994 cummins 12v 5 speed and on the highway sometimes it will want to keep going when i let off the gas so i would take it out of gear and it would just shut off on me one time the rpms shot right to red line with the clutch out and out of gear than i pushed the clutch in still out of gear and the rpms went back down than turned off and one time in 5th i pushed on the gas and nothing happend so i put it in 4th and it was fine than back in to 5th was good for a min or 2 than same thing wanted to keep going took it out of gear and it shut off

i have a 95 auto and it did the same thing, except i had miss fire with mine. Mine turned out to be the injector pump. But if you dont have misfire , i would say it may be just a worn governor arm. Mine was 620 to have rebuilt. Good luck!

Yah there is no miss fire the truck runs fine it has only done it to me 4 times 3 of wich where on one highway drive and since this is my first cummins I don't know too much about them how would I go about checking the governor arm? That would cause it to take off like that than also shut off?

Oh and also the truck only has 215 xxx km on it and it is all stalk other than I have cold air intake and 4inch turbo back
