Muffler question...

Hi,
I'm replacing my exhaust with 4" turbo back. I'm wondering what is the difference in flow rate between the factory muffler and a 4" performance muffler (meaning, is there enough benefit to justify the cost). Also, The cat will be a place holder only, so no flow issues there).
your thoughts..

unless your having lots of HP/torque or towing heavy Its mainly for the great sound the 4inch with 5inch tip gives and looks.

It does help cool. but some say it doesnt. I have noticed a difference while towing heavy with my pyro. but nothing really without towing.

I just replaced my exhaust w/4" on '97 2500 and there is definite difference in hp and throttle response along w/ 1 more mpg. The extra torque also brought out trans. issues(4 sp. auto) I didn't know I had before but it was minor and is fixed. Truck runs better than ever!

thank you for the wisdom...I'll get the muffler (25.00 and brand new), replace the muffler, and "fix" the cat....
