My understanding is that the '98 12v wiring is somewhat of a one year bastard. It's the new interior stuff, and some electronic changes thrown in to boot. The 24v harness is an obvious non-starter-electronic engine controls vs none. I have not personally verified that the '98 12v harness is different than the '97 and back one, but in asking questions about swapping my truck to an automatic trans, I keep having people tell me that the harness for a '98 is not the same as for earlier ones. Enough people have told me this that I believe it. Thus, my advice is for you to insist on one from a '98 if that's what you need.

Ouch good luck man the only other thing is go through the classifieds and look for part outs.

Another issue will be whether you have an auto or manual-the harnesses may be different because of the tps for the auto. Mine's a manual, and I keep toying around with the idea of swapping to an auto, but I'd need a built auto for the trade since I have a good manual with a southbend dd clutch, and I don't have that much time to do the swap anyway.

My '95 manual has the connector for the TPS so I assume the harnesses are the same for manual or auto, on '95 at least.

"98 electrical parts are a pain to find , they seem to be their own breed.
