Power Loss

Hey guys I've been experiencing some loss in power lately. The truck has almost 300k on the clock now and has always run strong but lately when I get on it it kinda drops on its face and I haven't done anything to it in the last 6 months. Right now I only use the truck to drive to work so it hasn't towed hardly a thing. The problem started about two months ago when I took a trip up to walden but it wasn't very major at all and it only did it when I was on it hard around 2800 rpms so I thought it could be something to do with not enough fuel supply but now it does it down low around 1800 rpm but only when I get on it otherwise it has decent power. If anybody has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate the input also I am on a really tight budget with the winter and all so if theres any things I can do myself that would be awesome. Thanks guys - Mike

I bought the truck about a year and a half ago and I changed the fuel filter then. The timing was set about 4 months ago at 16* and the truck has a manual lift pump on the side of the motor.

Oh yeah its been almost 50k miles since then I drive it a lot for my company and theres probably at least 19k of heavy towing on it, most of the towing miles I was towing almost 30k gross weight.

you bought the truck a year and a half ago and the fuel filter was changed then? and, you've put only 50k on it in a year and a half? ....frankly, you've answered your own self in my opinion.
