94 cooler lines

The cooler line on my 94 that has the OD heat sensor in it has been replaced with a rubber line. and my sensor and wires were taken out and zip tied to the frame rail. anyway i was driving it the other day it was about 40 degrees out and it hit OD. is there any way that i could put the sensor in the cab? if it only needs to be 40 degrees or so i dont see why it wouldnt work once it got warmed up and heat in the cab. What do you guys think? or should i just drill and tap a hole in the tranny pan so it gets the exact temp? or should i find a set of lines from a junk yard and put the one i need on? because they dont make cooler lines for my old 94 anymore. and im not gonna spend 600+ dollars to convert it over to 99 lines.

alternatively, you could just use a resistor and ditch the sensor completely...

maybe someone knows the resistance offhand, or you could check it yourself, then go down to your local electronics shop and pick up a resistor of similar value

The value is usually 1K. Others will work as long as the PCM reacts to it as if the transmission was warm. Radio Shack has 1K resisters.
