2 quick issues I ran into today guys. All of a sudden my airbag light is on and my blower motor isnt working at all now and its freakin cold here.
2. My temp gauge was cycling from 90-100 back down to 60 or 70 throughout driving. It usually stays around 60 or so in this cold weather. I know I have a small coolant leak but I took the rad cap off and I got very little pressure if not none and it was only about 1/2 a liter low on coolant.
By freakin cold.....How freakin cold!?!?!? I just put a piece of cardboard between the I/C and the rad. For the Airbag light and no fan, I would say fuse(s)? My Airbag light flashes on and off due to the stupid clock-spring in the steering wheel!!!
I believe that if your cooling system doesn't pressurize, you will not get good heat. I also recently changed my thermostat and man does that temp gauge wander, it's insane!!!
All fuses are good, I can move the ignition key back a bit and the light will click off and the blower motor starts working, but than will click off again
Any other imput on this heater issue guys?, were going to get another cold spell and I need this fixed. I checked all fuses and there are none blown. So what would cause the air bag light to stay on and no heater controls to work?
if it worked intermittently while you were dinking around with the key, i would suspect the ignition switch...
I dont have any wiring diagrams handy, but i suggest you find one and get in there with a multimeter/testlight and start checking wires at the ignition switch.
Just wondering if you had the blower motor wiring issue fixed per the recall sometime back? I have a 95 and the dealer fix the blower wiring at no cost.
Im also starting to think it is the ignition, It keeps getting harder to turn the key over to start the engine. I have to reef on it now for some reason.
Never heard of a blower motor recall on a '95 or any 12 valves for that matter.
You can check for recalls here, you will need your VIN> Chrysler - Contact Us
This was the safety recall work done. It involves the ignition and blower unit.
"The ignition switch and/or steering column wiring on about 710,000 of the above vehicles may overheat when the blower motor is operated at high speed for an extended period of time. This can cause stalling, loss of blower motor or power window operation, ABS or airbag lamp illumination or a steering column/instrument panel fire."
