I was wondering how long the grid heaters cycle for after the truck starts. My voltage drops and stays down on initial start up for a few seconds but then it returns to normal and doesn't go back down again. How long are the intervals between the cycles I would imagine it would have to cycle more than once the temps here are in the low to mid teens.
Ha thanks I've read that article a million times and missed that. It says they cycle on and off for about 3 minutes. I wonder why mine only seem to cycle once :confused013: I was thinking temp sensor but they seem to stay on long enough at key on position.
If you think you have a temp sensor issue, you can just measure the resistance across the input leads, check it against the repair manual chart. It should match the outside ambient temp as long as you do it before you start cycling the grids.
