if its hitting pretty hard and makeing a clunk sound. i am going to have to say no. its not good. the trans is getting abused and wont last long.... i would save up for a NV4500 since it sounds like u want a stick.
lol.. I've had both. Kinda prefer the auto for everyday driving but having full control of your machine is a feeling that's hard to beat.
Reason I ask is because I'm thinking about getting a ratchet style shifter so I can manually shift. I guess it's not really a clunk sound, but it's def a harder shift.
It's called overlap... For a split second both the low/reverse band and the intermediate band are holding... Low/rev is releasing and intermediate is applying....
Not good for it, especially if you have a shift kit. I know I'm super sweet and have burned up a low and reverse band, then ruined the l/r drum. I liked to hear the crackle of the pipes by down shifting to slow down. Not cheap to fix either, call a and a transmissions out of Indiana I'm %100 sure Rick can steer you in the right direction.
So my valvebody is acting up now... Delayed 1-2 gear shift, no slippage. I don't see how I could've messed it up within 36 hrs (maybe 20 miles) of manual shifting but oh well. If it takes a dump I might go with a manual vb.
