Can I drive without rear driveshaft?

It started snowing in here, but I can't use 4WD because truck has different gears in front and rear axles. I was wondering if it's OK to disconnect rear drive shaft and drive only with front one? Would it break anything if I do it?

it wont hurt anything but if you dont have a bolt on style rear yoke, your fluid will run out

yes you can do. its happen to me before. i snapped my rear drive shaft and drove front wheel drive for 15 miles and no problem at all. but you got to be soft with pedal use wisely.

Same here, 4.10 front and 3.54 rear, need 3.54 in front.

you can do it, but you had better be granny driving it!

The front driveline is not intended to see full power transfer, if you get a little happy on the pedal you are liable to start braking things (most likely front driveshaft)

High speeds are also hard on the front driveline
