strange fuel pressures

Ladies and gentlemen I have a strange fuel issue.
First the fuel heater burned up so I removed it.
Second the overflow valve crapped out so I replaced it.
Third the lift pump went out, so again I replaced it too.

The fuel pressure was 35psi for awhile, then it wouldn't start without part throttle, the pressure gauge is all over the place. I removed the switch that goes inline with the fuel heater and put a plate over it, that's the only place I think it could be pulling air?

Anyone else have this problem?
