355 vs 410 gears

I mainly use my truck for sled pulling and a hot rod. I recently broke my rear pinion on my 355 gear and im thinking about changing to 410. I pull in 4low and right now second gear is to low and third is to high? any thoughts or experience in how this will hurt or help me.

What about the carrier? I was told you have to change the carrier for that swap. Makes it pretty expensive.

I thought the carrier was the same and you could just change the ring and pinion. front and back

I'm 99% sure you don't have to change carriers.
