truck still not running right

ok so i put my bigger turbo on..cleaned my intercooler out of oil thats from when my turbo blew..tabbed my kdp and everyone told me my timing slipped so i bumped to to 16-19 degrees advanced which i can really notice a nice difference and it is still not running right..the timing may have ben slipped because it would crackle and pop and 2100 rpm and burn raw diesel fuel(white/gray smoke) so when i test drove it last night it did not do that..1st 2nd 3rd gear at WOT all reved fine to were it should rev to..once i hit 4th and 5th at WOT now it wont crackle and pop at 2100 it just like falls on its nose smokes alot of black smoke not like a huge cloud of smoke just a pretty black steam but has no power still..it acts like i have a hole n boot or something only in 4th and 5th at WOT.any help and ideas will be great..my only idea is something in the injection pump or governor springs or something..thanks

Yeah thats the problem. Try using a gauge to set timing. Unless you know 100% where you pin is at on the pump you cant do it without.

What kind of turbo? How big is turbo? What exactly is the timing? What boost pressure are you running? What kind of EGT's do you see? Do you have gauges? What is fuel pressure? What exactly has been done to engine?
