Hx40

I need a new turbo and I was wondering if I can swap a HX40 inplace of a HX35. What makes the two different and what do I need to change to install the HX40?

hx-40's will bolt right up. well I think there are some with bigger flanges. but I have one on my truck. the only thing I had to change was the downpipe. the 40 has 4" outlet.

So the everything matches except for the downpipe? Cool, thanks for your help. Is there any difference between the two boost wise? I dont have any gauges so this might be the time to add one.

gauges are definately needed. you will get more boost out of the 40. I see up to 55psi with mine. with the mods I have done. it is a little bit laggy compared to the 35 but it is definately a good small turbo upgrade.

will the increase in boost damage the intake manifold? I dont have any fuel upgrades so will it be too much boost?

No. it wont hurt the intake. The worst thing is you might blow the intercooler boots off. As for lack of fuel, it will just be laggy right off the bottom but it will do that anyway.

Nitrous, its the little blue pill for diesels.

Takes a little more time for the turbo to catch up and build boost making the engine pull.
