Turbo guys

I got 2 1996 cummins motor 12v and both have different turbos on them i wanna know what kind of turbo i got the first one is a HOLSET and the type is WH1C and the customer number is 39257-0-0-0-7/1 and the other one is also a HOLSET and the type number is H1C and the cusomer number is 3531504-0-12/2 i wanna know which one is better out of the two thank you

theyre both the same except for the "W" in the WH1C means its wastegated as opposed to the H1C which isnt wastegated. personally i didnt run a wastegate when i had my hx35 and i still dont on the aftermarket turbo i have now, but its like cheap insurance just in case you push higher boost numbers to keep from blowing a headgasket or things of that matter.

12valveterror what do you think of you turbo im in the market to buy one and have been lookin at the s300sx but cant decide on sizes? anything about yours good and bad that you would do different?

well its double edge sword, the turbo is good, but one reason for drawback since it is an off the shelf borg warner turbo and their relatively inexpensive(less than 750 bucks) they are not bolt up: for example they use a t4 flange, a 3rd gen style compressor housing and they use an undivided housing, and his is where i believe even tho the housing is a t4- .88a/r its undivided and according to the folks at my diesel shop an undivided housing is much larger than when compared to a t3 divided housing(like our holsets) so the spoolup isnt quite what the stocker was, ive still been playing with my afc housing to this day to hopefully get it dialed in correctly for quicker spoolup, but dam she pulls freakin hard after 1900 rpms, its like a rocket ship, but i can live with it for now and have been in contact with a member here(stangpwr71) who also has the same turbo and he recently purchased a smaller t3 divided housing for it so im waiting on results.
