My '94 is bone stock with a NV4500 and currently has 265's. In 5th gear I'm at 2k rpm at 60mph. Anything past that and it falls on it's face. I know I need a gsk. Thinking about running 35's. What would my speed be at 2k? Any other suggestions for bringing down the rpm, except for swapping gears?
bigger tires. i gained 15mph with no gsk by switching from 265s to 315s. 65mph on the highway was a pain in the when running late for work. i've got an auto so my rpm/speed probably doesnt mean much to you, but i run 70mph at 2k.
Buy both.......GSK and 35's LOL
No way to bring down the RPM's if you don't want to swap gears.
Only other way is a Gearvendor type overdrive kit.
If money is your issue, gears are cheaper than the OD kit depending on your local pricing.
I have 4.10's with an auto.....I like them, but I tow a decent amount.
I also have 35's (well ok 34's LOL) ......I can run faster than I feel comfortable in an 8k lb truck LOL
For other folks reference my 4.10 Auto is at 2250 at 70mph on the speedo, GPS is 75.
