build my auto or nv4500 swap

so my tq is slowly shuddering more and more so i took out my 100 plate and put in a tst#8 plate and its better but still shudders sometimes.so my dilema is in between a full goerend auto standard duty with billet tripple disk, just put a goerend tripple disk and valve body in,or a 5 speed swap.whats your guys opinion?if i do a nv4500 swap i know someone how just pulled there nv4500 in favor of a nv5600 and he will sell me the tranny ,crossmember, and southbend con fe with 13" flywheel for $500.but theres not much of the clutch left by the looks of it but he says it worked fine. ive read rightups on the swap and it seems somewhat straight forward.so my questions are if i go with just a goerend tc and vb should i be worried about the rest of my tranny? has 150k on it.or would the swap be worth it?can i buy just a clutch from southbend since i have the flywheel?if so how much is it?

what are your opions?

thanks for any input sorry for the long post ive been searching as much as possible and have come up with a list of questions

thanks

robert

Dont know wether i would swap or not but if you can get all that for 500 I would, just to have it, might make some money on it later on, unless its junk or something.

I just had my 5 speed swapped out for a full blown Goerend auto and I would never go back to the manual tranny. JMHO

hmm well thats interesting to hear,do you have the standard duty tranny for like $3250?also this truck will be used for just a daily driver/work truck, pulling a ski boat on weekends, occasional car hauler. not much more pullin and hp goal of around 450.

Personally, I would build the transmission. A conversion would be cool if you had something against the Auto, but the time to do it and the other parts, your going to be in the same ball park cost wise. Yeah, the transmission is $500, but you need a clutch. Also, the pedal assembly, and most likely the hydraulics too. Next, you will need the center floor console if thats not included and have to knock a hole in the floor. I defintly would not rush in on a conversion without seriously thinking it through.

If you can swing it, the full tran's is the way to go. Do it once. But as for the triple disk convertor, it's not needed, go with a single, it will do the job and save you some cash.

I had the 6 speed, swapped to the auto, I'll never go back.
