kdp?

i am finally in the market of buying a 12 valve and i was wondering what there is to worry about i know the 5th gear and kdp so i was actually wondering since the kdp is the worst problem how do you fix it and how time consuming is it? THANKS

I used the kit from tst. It took about 1.5hrs would have been less if I didn't have my kids trying to help me The tst kit comes with everything you need to do the kdp.

Yea its not bad just watch putting the fan back in and dont get in a hurry. I did mine and it ended up costing me a radiator cuase i got in a hurry and pushed a fan blade through the radiator.

The 5th gear fix took me about 4 hours. It's really not hard to do, it's just time consuming. There's a ton of info out there on the fix. Many trucks have already had it done so you may want to see if there is a service history showing the 5th gear fix. The kdp isn't bad either. It's expensive when it puts a hole in the timing cover (mine did) but if it hasn't failed yet, it's a walk in the park.
