Question overflow vave?

what is it?what does it do?can i just change it?do i get it at cummins ,dodge,or napa somewhere else?is there a better one than stock?thanks

It controls fuel pressure. You can get it from cummins but it's expensive there. You can get them from some of our vendors here.

i pulled it out.took it apart actualy i had to take it apart to get it out.i just stretched the spring put it back together.now i have all the rpms i want no cutting in and out.now i need to do the valve springs.thanks

Cummins prices on the OFV just came down some so it is worth a check there. The OFV sets the internal operating or "feed" pressure inside the inj pump. If it gets weak this pressure decreases and decreases feed to the injection pump pistons.

I highly caution anyone against stretching the spring without a fuel pressure gauge. Anything over 45psi has the potential of blowing internal injection pump seals ($$$) splitting open the fuel filter and lines.
