will a Tranny and rear end from 1/2 ton work in my 12 valve?

I've been wanting to do a auto to manual conversion and just found a 1/2 ton of the same year (1997) to use as a possible donor. What transmission did they use in the 1/2 ton gas versions? And also I'm wondering if they used the same rear ends? Mine has a dana 70 in the rear I believe. Did they put 60's in the rears of the 1/2 ton? thanks for any help....

Simply put, no. The tranny you need is either for the cummins or a V10 to be a bolt up however I am willing to bet that there is a difference in the torque converter and valvebody due to operating RPMs and torque. Rearend not a chance in being the same.
