TPS adjustment??
OK i have seen a couple of post that said you could adjust the tps with a bolt up under where its mounted. If this is the case anyone have a picture because I dont find it on my truck. It is a 97 12v.

TPS = Throttle Position Sensor. Here's the link; TPS testing and adjustment if it doesn't work then go to forums page and scroll down to tech articles 2nd Gen 94-98. There is a lot of great information there.

My tps isnt slotted. It is a fixed mount. I am going to get a new tps from a parts house, im sure mine is just out of range/worn out. I alreadt tried drilling them out and rotating but could get close to spec. It started at .352 volts and the closest i could get was around .756 volts.

Way out of scale but you should be able to figure it out.

I will be doing a write up on adjusting a tps soon with pictures. Dont slot you tps mounting holes. This is not the proper way. You have to adjust the rod positioned below it to ramp up you tps voltage.

Messing with the rod adjustment to adjust the TPS is totally incorrect.
Changing the rod adjustment different than the specs below will shorten your rpm range. The enlarging the the mounting hole method is recommended by the most highly respected diesel tranny builders.

It works better to install a potentiometer (pot) in the ground wire to the TPS than mutilating the TPS. If you use a pot you can adjust the OD shift points to some extent. Another way is to eliminate the TPS from the circuit by replacing it with a pot in the cab. If you do that you have control over OD and lockup shift points, but kick down does not work. The TPS is just a poorly designed pot that is operated by the throttle cable.
