98 12v Stalling after sitting overnight

I have a 98 2500 12v that I have just purchased. Truck runs great, except for the early morning start up. the truck cranks and starts without depressing the pedal. It idels around 800rpm for about a minute then stalls. I can get the truck started again, but it is difficult. Usually depressing pedal. Once the truck starts for the second time we are good to go for the day. No problems what so ever. I have a relocation fuel filter kit that is mounted under driver side door on my truck if that makes any difference. I could use some advise to cure the problem

Sounds to me you have a leak and your fuel is leaking back from the filter.

Could be any of the rubber lines. They are prone to cracking after 10+ years. Take a flashlight and look at every one to check for a possible rotted line. I've seen the return line from the pump rot and I've seen the 90 degree line from lift pump to fuel heater do the same.
