Fuel Injectors
After changing my headgasket I seem to have some leaks on my injectors. Near as I can tell it seems it is running up out of the injector holes around the lock nut that secures the injector in place. I have new washers on the tips of the injectors and new washers on the return but am getting quite a bit of fuel pouring out on injector 1 espicially and seeping out of the rest slowly. Any ideas as to what I am missing or has anyone else had this problem?

I guess I'll be pulling the injectors again to clean the holes out....I think that a 12 guage brush would work well but if it doesn't I will order one from the linky provided

Make sure its not leaking from the return line/bolts, a lot of people have trouble getting them to reseal.

I got all new washers again from cummins so I will try it again this weekend. At cummins they gave me the option of 7mm or 9mm washers under the injectors. I didnt have a clue and took the 7's because thats what the guy said they use most often, is that right? What would the 9mm's be for?

He meant the diameter size of the injector tip. the older engines (mainly the non turbo) used a 9mm tip and the heads were really prone to cracking. Around the era of the p-pumped engines they had switched to a 7mm tip so they could leave some more meat in the head to prevent cracking.

B,C Series 5.9L Injector Installation Kit (6) I had very good luck with this kit. Even with shipping it is a bargain. The horseshoe washers are good and thick. I used the thin washers with my injectors from a 215 hp engine.

Well I add a little more to my knowledge bank everyday! Its amazing the difference that 2 mm can make. I already picked up my copper washers from cummins but wish I had picked up that kit, it has everything and is almost half what I paid for just 6 washers and horseshoes....
