let the truck idle for abotu an hour and no coolant

i was tryign to warm somethign up so i left the truck idlign for abotu an hour. later when i drove home abotu 15 min into the drive the heater stopped working.

stopped and sure enough i was super low on coolant.

no cracked block. no weird smoke out the tail pipe, not power issues.

i have a wird chirping noise commign from the front left of the block. i thoguht it was the belt tensioner bearing but could it be a water pump?

its been chirping for abotu a year.

check your oil. see if u have cross contamination. kinda hard to loose coolant unless someone put water and it evaporated.

If it was a head gasket he would have oil in the coolant, not coolant in the oil. Oil pressure is higher than coolant pressure.

Not really answering your question, but I would not idle the engine to warm it up when cold. Once it smooths out after 20 seconds or so, maybe less, maybe a tad more, drive it slowly and don't work it until up to temp. Letting the truck idle when cold isn't the best for it.

okay most leaks are exhuast in to the coolant have a garage do an exhuast gas test. takes 5 minutes to do. very simple. most coolant leaks will be external. coolant pressure is about 15 oil is 40-80 exhuast 100+
