I plugged mine off (pinched it closed, anyway) and didn't see any real difference. I did, however, see huge boost increase with the #10 and boost nipple.

Well Duh! Did you try it with the #10 and the WG plugged??

And yes, the 3GSK kit is around $100. I ordered mine from Piers Diesel.

That's just about it for the cheap stuff. The next step is all internal, or expensive. You could upgrade your DV's, but the stock DV's do fine for stock injectors. You could upgrade your injectors, but you'd be running hot and would need a bigger turbo to cool it down. That would put you in desperate need of a clutch/tranny.

I feel like both of you will be pleased with the performance you've got after upgrading the fuel plate & throwing some GSK's at it. Honestly? The plate is the most noticable HP factor, but the GSK's are what make the truck fun to drive. I would recommend upgrading the stock air cleaner though. If you want to go the direction of a BHAF, they can be had for a reasonable price. If you're looking to keep a stock-type filter, go ahead and cut the side out of your airbox that faces the fender. Both of these will greatly help the suction side of things.

Oh, one more thing. You could both benefit from having your timing advanced to 15.5* or 16*

how is this done? I always thought this is what the starwheel did.... or does it involve pulling the front cover and actually advancing the cam?

The starwheel controls pre-boost fueling, not timing. And yes, you would be advancing the cam. Do a search on here and you will turn up TONS of info on doing it, but I have done the same thing and concluded that it's too much of a PITA for me to do myself, and will take it and have it done. Good time to kill the KDP while you're there.
