Dang dodge transmissions!!!!!

ok does this mean that my tranny is about to bite the dust?

1st time:

today when i went to leave my trans would not go into gear i had to run through all the gears twice then i finally went into drive. also this is after i started the truck in N and let it run for a good 2 min like that so i know the torque converter was full.

2nd time:

Today about an hour later I was running around to the post office and such well got back in and it did the same thing only this time only once through the gears and drive worked, but when I went to take off the tranny clunked super hard into gear moved me in the truck really good. This was on flat ground no pressure on the drive line and sense it has worked fine. Now I do have a good list of mods but I am very easy on this truck because i know of the weak weak weak stock tranny.

help me or should i just start getting some pennies together

Question

I'm hopefully stating the obvious that you have checked the fluid level (running and in gear) and also smelled/tasted the fluid to see if it is burned/contaminated/still nice and red?

I don't know if you know this or not...

BUT

Leaving a Chrysler transmission in Park will not circulate fluid through the cooler.

That may be where your issue is. Try Neutral for a min before you try to move it.

i did check the level and its good tranny fluid didn't appear to be burnt....and as i stated in the post i let it run for 2 mins in "N" before i moved it the first time and the TC will not drain for the 15 min i was in the post office

Sorry that was a quick scan trying to help post...

I'd check the transmssion for codes. A 97 can have issues with solonids in the valve body.
