Governor/Pump questions

Been curious about this for quite some time, but have never been able to find(search results) any answers.

Here's my situation.. The 94 in my sig will rev out to 2750 and then it starts defueling. Before installing the 3GSK's, it would defuel at 2500.. So, the 3GSK's helped a little bit, but it still doesn't rev out like I think it should. My buddy has a 97 with the 215, #10FF, 3GSK, and it will full fuel to 3K, and rev past it... His timing is advanced 16*, but as far as I know, that's the only mod he's got on his that I don't have.

Question is... Is it my lack of advanced timing that's causing mine to defuel early, or is the 215 pump just putting that much more fuel out? I've never heard or read anything about it, but was wondering if maybe the outer governor spring was tighter on the 215, or if there were any other differences that could make mine not rev like the 97??

My truck would fuel to about 3300 before defuel when the timing was at 19.5 with stock gsk. Timing should help.

double check your tachs accuracy using a laser/photo tach also. the OE gauges arent always known for their accuracy!

I made sure I put them in to the same clicks as the factory springs, but will clamp them down a little tighter. Don't remember if this should raise or lower my idle?
