Hey guys, so the motor is definitely leaking oil from somewhere. There is usually oil all over the sides of the valves on the fuel line side. So I replaced the valve cover gaskets which were dry rotted. That didn't change anything. Someone mentioned that it could be the timing chain case cover, but I don't see how oil could get on top of the motor from there. Any ideas?
anyways, yes, it is doubtful to get oil from there to the top of the head...
you said it's leaking oil on the fuel side? well, maybe you've fixed the oil leak, but there's still a small fuel leak actually going on? did you brake clean the hell out of the top of the head after installing the vc gaskets to see if the new leaks are fuel or oil?
Get a few cans of engine degreaser and get the thing cleaned up really well. After you do that, run the engine for a short time or take a short drive and see if you can tell where the oil is originating
Well I supposed it could be a small fuel leak other than when I wiped up the wetter spots it was definitely oil. ill try and get a picture up so you guys can see what I'm talking about. yes the o-rings on the bolts were replaced as well. I degreased it once but I'm going to do it again and try to pay some more attention to exactly where it leaks from.
