Guys:
I have owned this rig since new. See details in signature below.
On freeway last Friday, I thought I had been struck from behind. Nobody was there. I am told this is a sign of a worn torque converter. Sounds reasonable.
I don't have the $$ ($4.6K ?) to go through a true transmission rebuild with trip disk, and HD kit for more horsepower but wondering if there is something better that just dropping in a stock torque converter? I have read articles about high performance single disk converters that can handle mild performance upgrades (<300HP).
Does it make sense to look at a few more bucks for a better single disk?
Absent any other transmission mods, will a higher performance single disk harm the stock internals of the transmission?
Thanks all!:confused013:
