Question Home made performance???

Sup fellas, Just wondering if anyone else has seen the product of "Cooler Tubez" on ebay. Its basically a 3" pipe bent with a flange welded on the end to bolt to the cylinder head, and the other end has been bead rolled to keep the hose on. A performance replacement for the intake horn, or Pelenum. Looks like a pretty good product. Sales for $150 Just wondered if anyone else has followed the application or had made there own rather which I would rather do than the 350 dollar one that your can get from ATS or Banks or something off ebay.. I've thought about making one if I can find 3" pipe or something to replicate it Ive got ways to bend it. And I don't drive my pickup daily so I can down it for a few days Really just wondering if anyone has done this would would be worth the wild and time doing it...

Make it out of exhaust tubing. Powdercoat it inside and out or get chrome. You can get the elbows here Dynaflex Chrome Muffler Stacks | Chrome Stacks | Rubber Intake Elbows | Donaldson Mufflers

Well here it is.. I found a use for the old exhaust pipe that was removed from the truck I use the section that went over the axle. Only 180* piece I could find, and a piece of flat steel hanging around the house. Dunno if I'll gain any power or anything but it might look kinda intemidating when Its on the truck. lol. And it was free.. Just spent time making it. May not be worth a damn but still kinda proud.

Looks nice. But remember, thats the intake AFTER the filter. Make sure that pipe is CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN, on the inside!!! did I say CLEAN? Would be great if you had dyno access, and could try it to see if it makes a difference.
One other thing, CLEAN!!!!!

Nice job, but not sure what you'll gain.
No experence with the ATS but the Banks intake splits the intake into two.
The intake plenum (part the horn attaches to) is replaced with a new one with two intakes. the two stock grid heaters are split and one put on each new intake.
You get a lot more than just the intake horn for $350.

Yeah I haven't finished everything yet. I still gotta make a bead of some sort to keep the hose from blowing off. I'm goin to bead blast the whole thing and wash it really well before I put it on and paint it up nice. I might have a dyno access but it might take me a long time to get there. so If this post is still here I'll send the results. Just still excited that I have no money what so ever in the thing. lol .. A poor man has poor ways!!!!

I made a pipe for mine years ago out of an exhaust elbow. I have since then made a nicer/cleaner one. There wuz no way I was going to pay $350 & up for the banks or even buying one for a none EGR intake, like the 24v. After I installed mine, my turbo spooled up faster and my EGT dropped 100-200 deg. I love mine.....
