12v pump mods with no power gain

Hey guys, im new to the forum. Ive got a 12v i did some pump mods (removed fuel plate, turned up star wheel and turned smoke screw in just a bit). I noticed no power increase and no smoke. Im not looking to dump smoke just want to get it to smoke so i can tune my afc. The boost lines that connect to the afc are new and ive got good fuel pressure from the lift pump. Not sure on the psi. But the lift pump defiantly puts out some pressure because i lost the supply line from the filter to the p7100 and when that went there was plenty of fuel coming out of that line. Replaced that line with a half inch fuel line. Im stumped on wat to check next. Any ideas????

You need to check fuel pressure and if low it can be cause by the overflow valve 18 psi at idle min and at wot shouldn't go below 20 psi

Your not going to have power when your blowing smoke, all that does is flood your turbo until it can build up enough boost to try to make use of the extra fuel. If you want power you need to tighten the starwheel.

Yes starwheel is turned the right way. Im not looking to roll coal i just want to fine tune my afc. And with the mods i have done there should be more power and smoke. I just want power not smoke. Ive read up alot on the pump mods. Im just trying to figure out why i have no power increase with the mods i have done?

So then before the turbo spools up do you get alot of smoke?

How many miles are on your injectors?

You might want to put a fuel pressure gauge on to see if your getting enough fuel pressure.

Is your fuel filter and air filter clean?

Ya the fuel pressure gauge is next on the list. The air and fuel filter r both new only about 2000 miles on them

The only other thing i could think of is that the diagphram in the afc is leaking/ has a hole in it?

Stock injectors are only good for about 200,000 miles and they should be rebuilt or replaced.

If that is leaking then your pump isn't going to get boost pressure that could be your problem.
