Governor spring question

I just changed my injectors from ddp 90hp to II dragon fly r3s today which are 150hp and i was thinking my boost would go up when i blocked the waste gate off. It didnt go up any. When noticed something and i was wondering if to those of you with more experience if im on the right track.

Okay, i got a little to much pre-boost fuel but i can light my turbo at roughly 1750-1800 and by time it gets to 39 psi im at 2200rpm and its starting to de-fuel.

In my mind im thinking since it clears up i got more fuel to use but when im getting to 39 psi its starting to de-fuel so i cant make more boost. W/ gsks installed im thinking ill be able to use full fuel past that point thus making more power.

Am i on the right track?

When I installed my gsk my boost didn't go up. Tuning it will change things I know that. Mine used to be at 43 psi on the little hx35 now its tuned back to 34 psi. Idk that's my thought. Gsk is a heck of a mod but i don't think it will increase boost.

On Cummins forum instead of working or doing homework.

The GSK will increase usable rpms, but not necessarily boost.
More fuel will cause boost to build even at lower rpms.

For the week before my new turbo showed up I ran 5x12's with the stock turbo, already had a 4gsk in. I could hit 40+ before 2200rpms with the waste gate set to 32psi.
Alot of fuel pushed through a small turbo will build boost even after the gate opens!

With stock injectors even the 4gsk had little effect on boost numbers.

If you have not yet added a GSK go with a 4K. With your fueling and turbo combo, you are missing out on nearly half of the power you will have after adding a 4 GSK.

For a manual truck with plenty of fuel you will want to add the 60+ valve springs to keep things safe.

Remember higher boost psi does not translate in to higher power. You want your turbo to gate at a psi that keeps the turbo in its map. For your turbo some where near 40-45 is going to be about the top of where more boost hurts instead of helps.
